92 paise per passenger is charged while booking the ticket, if you opt for it on above website. Travelling distance or category of travel is not relevant. Rs. 10 lakh in case of death or permanent total disability is payable in case you are involved in an accident like above. For permanent partial disability, the cover is up to Rs. 7.5 lakh. For hospitalization expenses, the cover is up to Rs. 2 lakh and Rs. 10,000 for transportation of the mortal remains of a victim. Coverage of hospitalization expenses is in addition to the coverage of disability and death. This insurance can be claimed over and above any compensation that the government may give to victims of train accidents.
